WOA! hosts a variety of events that reflect on and push forward our mission; it is for this reason that event locations will be hosted in both Ottawa and Gatineau. Events are structured to include, irregular pop-up events in addition to the consistent, WOA! series events. These series events fall into the following categories:
WOA! Talks delve into bigger questions facing the industry and/or professions; aimed at engaging the audience in dialogue/discussion on a relevant topic. WOA! Talks can take the form of a medium to large scale such as a panel.
WOA! Mingles maintain a casual, networking-focused atmosphere, based around food, drink, and socializing as the their main components. Mingels’ can vary in form, from of a post-work Cinq à Sept to a semi-guided tour + social.
WOA! Builds are delivered in a workshop style format, centered on professional development, and enable attendees to earn Continuing Education hours. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: law and business of architecture, leadership, communication, and visual presentation skills.
WOA! Stories are open to the public; telling the story of different Women of Architecture. This series is intended to both engage and expose the audience to a behind the scenes view of the Capital Region’s built environment. Stories take on various formats and mediums such as: gallery displays, walking tours, art installations etc.
